You Were Made to Know Somebody
Where Do You Find Your Identity?
Today, so many people struggle with identity. They find their identity in people, places, or things. However, when we seek to find our satisfaction and security in anything or anyone other than God, we will be disappointed.
We must find our significance and security, not in ourselves. but in our relationship with God.
You Want Wisdom? This is Who You Need to Know
Jeremiah 9:23-24
“23 Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, 24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.”
This passage states that the truly wise person makes it their aim to understand and know God. However, so many people boast in their wisdom, might, and riches. True wisdom is found in knowing God personally and intimately. Knowing God means knowing His steadfast love (faithful and covenantal love), justice (a judgment that is always right), and righteousness (doing what is right, promise keepers).
Grow in Grace and Deepen Your Knowledge
2 Peter 3:18
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
Peter states that we should make it our aim to find our stability in life, by growing in grace and deepening our knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is in knowing God where we find the greatest meaning in life.
Knowing the Someone
Remind yourself daily that you are not meant to be someone but to know Someone. What an amazing privilege we have to be known by God and to know Him! Praise God for His making Himself known to us.
