How to Have Hope in the Chaos and Confusion of Our Time

“Having no hope and without God in the world.” 

Ephesians 2:12b

So many people have lost hope. Some believe that they never had hope. Others cannot seem to find a reason to hope again. Far too many Christians live under the clouds of discouragement, discontentment, and despair. They are dominated by pains from the past and problems in the present that have influenced their perspective on their life and their future.

Some struggle with loss. Others feel constantly betrayed. Many find themselves discouraged by repeated failures.

Is that you?

But, I want you to know that there is a reason to hope. We have hope in the Triune God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Hope is obtained by grace and is found in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is the anchor of hope for our weary souls (Hebrews 6:19). In Christ, we have a hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5), and it encourages us to triumph over the great difficulties of life (Romans 4:18).

Christ purchased eternal hope for Christians at the cross, but the empty tomb confirmed their hope at the resurrection of Jesus three days later.

Gratitude journal

When was the last time someone said thank you to you? When was the last time you said thank you to someone else? So many people today struggle with a lack of thankfulness and ingratitude. This leads to struggles with complaining, criticizing, and comparing. Gratitude and thankfulness provide a powerful remedy for these problems.
