Counseling through the Psalms: Psalm 66 – “Come and Worship”

I love getting together with a community of believers that are passionate for Christ, filled with Holy Spirit, led by God’s word, and aiming for the glory of God in their lives. There is such a fellowship that comes from those gatherings.

Yet, the world is not that way.

Does it break your heart to see how God’s name is devalued and desecrated day after day in our world? How painful it is for you to see the chaos and confusion that come from our world that refuses to trust and obey God and His Word?

Is it your passion to see this world trust and worship God? That is the psalmist’s desire in Psalm 66. In it, the psalmist reminds us that God’s reign is universal. In Psalm 66 as well, we see that intercessory prayer can lead to great praise. Finally, we see that God answers the prayers of people whose hearts are broken and contrite.

Gratitude journal

When was the last time someone said thank you to you? When was the last time you said thank you to someone else? So many people today struggle with a lack of thankfulness and ingratitude. This leads to struggles with complaining, criticizing, and comparing. Gratitude and thankfulness provide a powerful remedy for these problems.
