6 PM Update – Still in Surgery, Progressing Well

As of 6:00 PM, Amy is still in surgery, and I wanted to share a quick update with you.

The anesthesiologist just came out to speak with me and let me know that things are progressing well. Although we are still in the midst of this lengthy and complex procedure, the report at this stage is encouraging.

They have now successfully removed the liver from the donor, and the next major steps in Amy’s transplant are underway. The anesthesiologist estimates that Amy’s surgery will likely continue until at least 10 PM—possibly as late as midnight.

We are continuing to pray, and we’re so thankful for the many of you who are praying alongside us. Things appear to be going well on both sides: with Amy and with the donor.

Please keep lifting up:

  • The surgical team, as they work with endurance and precision
  • Amy, that her body receives this new liver without complication
  • The donor, for full healing and recovery
  • Our hearts, that we would continue to trust God, moment by moment

With continued thanks,
James

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” – Isaiah 26:3
